Gerberas are also known as the African daisy. It is distinguished by its two-lipped ray florets in array of colours such as orange, pink, yellow, white, or red. It has a capitulum, or false flower, which means there are many flowers formed to create one large flower structure. The Gerbera is native to tropical regions in Southern America, Africa, and Asia. It is a popular cut flower, ranking 5th in most widely used cut flowers in the world. Meanings for the Gerbera vary between colours. However, they do carry the common symbols for the daisy flower type. These types of flowers represent innocence, purity, and faith.
